Gemini Gymnastics at 2011 Canadian Championships
Gemini Gymnastics has three athletes attending this week’s Canadian Gymnastics Championships hosted by Prince Edward Island’s Gymnastic’s Academy. Keep your eyes on this page for up-to-date information on how our athletes are doing!
Natalie Vaculik, a member of Canada’s National Junior Team, will be competing in the Junior Division. Sasha Vedenin will be competing in the National Open 16+ Division. Aleeza Yu will be competing for the first time at Nationals in the National Novice High Performance Division. Coached by Elena and Valery, we are all cheering them on! Both Sasha and Aleeza will be competing for Team Ontario in the team competitions. Competition begins on Tuesday, May 24 (see schedule).
Blythe Lawrence’s on-line reporting at the Gymnastics Examiner will be following the action. During competition, Lawrence attempts to report the action as it happens – who is competing, what skills they are doing, and whether they were successful! Lawrence has already posted her first article - “Six storylines to follow at the Canadian Nationals” online – mentioning Natalie, as well as last year’s Senior Women’s champion, Gemini’s, Kristina Vaculik. Unfortunately, due to her exam schedule at Stanford, Kristina will not be competing in the Canadian Championships this year, but will be returning in June to continue her training.
